At Vichy we care about your skin and understand that everyone’s skin is unique. By understanding your skin type, we can help you create your very own skincare regime to improve your skin’s health.

How do we know your skin type?

We have developed a free skin health consultation called the Dermo.Analyzer®, which uses patented technology to scan and analyse different areas of your face to determine your skin type.

This service, available in selected pharmacies and most large Boots stores in the UK & Republic of Ireland, is run by independent skincare advisors.

What does the Dermo.Analyzer® do?

Your free skin health consultation will enable us to diagnose your skin type and create a tailor-made skincare regime just for you.

The skincare advisor will recommend products based on your skin type. You will also receive a printed prescription of your consultation results along with a free personalised sample kit, so you can determine whether the products work for you.

The Skin Health Consultation

Your free skin health consultation is the first step to achieving beautiful, healthy-looking skin.

One of the professionally trained skincare advisors will carry out up to six diagnoses of your skin: your skin's biological age, sensitivity level, hydration, skin type and tone. The advisor will then use these results to recommend a skincare regime that will work specifically for you.

Depending on whether you would prefer to have a complete assessment or just want to concentrate on one specific area of concern, the consultation can take between 5 and 25 minutes.

After the consultation

After the consultation you will receive a printed prescription of your results and recommended products. Your skincare advisor will then give you a free sample kit to take away and try.

Your details will be saved on the Dermo.Analyzer® so you can come back and have another consultation to monitor the progress of your skin’s health.

How do I book?

This free service is available in selected pharmacies and most large Boots stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland. To find your nearest Dermo.Analyzer® enter your details in the store locator. You can either book an appointment when you are next in store or simply turn up.

Free Skin Health Consultation

The diagnoses

Your free skin health consultation will last between 5 and 25 minutes depending on which diagnoses you wish to take.

The consultation involves taking high resolution images and answering a series of questions. You can pick and choose which of the diagnoses you want to take. The six different diagnoses are:

Skin HydrationWe measure the level of water in your skin to help determine which type of moisturiser will suit your skin.

Skin TypeWe measure the level of shine on your face and with the results from your hydration test and a lifestyle questionnaire we can determine your skin type, from normal to combination, to oily to dry.

Skin AgeIn order to calculate your skin’s biological age, we will compare your skin to 7,000 skin profiles. This will help us to recommend the most suitable products to help you slow down the signs of ageing.

Sun SensitivityUsing your profile, we can determine how sensitive your skin is to the sun and advise you on improved protection from the sun’s harmful rays.

Skin SensitivityThere is not just one type of sensitive skin, there are four degrees of sensitivity and four types of reactivity. If you have sensitive skin, it is important to know the type of sensitive skin you have so you can use products that your skin won't react to.

Skin ToneWe can measure your skin tone to identify any uneven areas of pigmentation.
